Studio Brief 02 involves us producing a set of 10 double page spread layouts that explore the form, function and construction of a book.
I therefore brainstormed some possible ideas. I looked into ideologies about life itself. Such as a book full of inspirational life quotes with different typefaces and block colour backgrounds.
I then went on to think about a book that gave the reader 10 things to do before you die which couldn't be very content heavy but would just be a simple guide to living life to the full.
Then my final idea was a book about the dependency on technology that would try get people to actually live their lives and not miss opportunities and talk about how people coped without it in the past. Particularly focusing on the idea that social networks are actually becoming anti social.
I decided to use the inspirational life quotes idea due to the technology one being particularly time consuming due to having to come up with all the content myself however I altered the idea slightly via the crit we had. I was advised to do a book on quotes by famous people so it was a bit more specific.
I then decided that I would use a pamphlet stitch as the binding method and it would be A5. I sketched out what would be on each page and what would be involved.
I also looked at some ideas of what each page could look like.
